What are safe words and do you think they are necessary?

Devinn Lane - Safe words are very necessary. Safe words are something that a dominate and a submissive create together so that the dominate knows when to stop. It also gives the submissive a sense of safety in that they know they aren't going to get pushed to a place they don't want to go. So safe words are absolutely necessary.

Once people determine they want to incorporate S&M into their lives what is a good way to get started?

Devinn Lane - Experiment. There are a lot toys and things out there that I refer to as pseudo S&M gear that couples can get. Little cuffs and things. Velcro is a great thing. You can get in and out of it quickly in case you find yourself in a situation that you don't want to be in you can get out of it quickly. Get out on the internet and do some research. Threshold is a group in Los Angeles that last time I checked was a group that holds parties and has news groups. They invite people to come and watch or participate depending on what they are comfortable with.

What is it you like about knives?

Devinn Lane - It is not necessarily the knife as much as it is putting your trust in the person holding it.

Talk to me about sex with a hand gun.

Devinn Lane - Sex with a hand gun :) it is the same thing as with a knife. Any type of weapon that you incorporate into your S&M / B&D games it is not so much about the weapon itself as the amount of trust you have to put into the person holding the weapon.

Is it wise to use such things as toys?

Devinn Lane - This is where it is a risk. Guns can be less dangerous because obviously you are not going to put a bullet in the gun. And then it is not nearly as threatening. It is more you are pointing it at somebody. You are running across their body. The touch of the cold steel. Knives are a different story. Because you can cut somebody. You can hurt somebody. You can use a dull knife and then the person can get the sense of the knife up against them with less risk of being injured. But it comes down to they are dangerous so unless you know what you are doing don't play with them as toys.

Tell me about sensory depravation.

Devinn Lane - Sensory depravation is a very interesting to play with and not everyone can do it because some people have issues with claustrophobia. It is were you take a persons senses except for one which is generally touch but you can change it around. You can take their sense of touch away and only leave them with their sense of taste. It gets really interesting when you put the earplugs in and they can no longer hear. I have found that with people that are new to S&M and B&D it is easier to go ahead and put the ear plugs in that way they can tune out everything else that is going on around them.

Do you think people are becoming more accepting of the S&M lifestyle then they were 10 years ago or is it just getting more media attention?

Devinn Lane - I think it is getting more media attention so therefore people are thinking it is, I don't want to say accepting, they just perceive it as a little more okay. People who are into it are going to be into it regardless of what society says. But if society is more aware of it then more people may feel like it is okay for them to, I don't want to say "come out" because that makes it sound like a gay thing and it is not, feel more open to feel the joys of B&D and S&M.

Last time I talked to you on the set of Stiletto you mentioned two projects you had in the works that you couldn't talk about. Can you talk about them now?

Devinn Lane - I don't know. They don't know what they want to do with them. They don't know if they want to go with them but I will say I am really pushing for Wicked to be condom optional in some instances. I will always use condoms but for some people like Nicole and Voodoo who are married they should have the right to say they don't want to wear them. There are also some women who are severely allergic to latex and they should have that right as well. Then there are women who want to use them and they should have the right to say they are condom only. But I think they should each have a say in what they want. Other than that I can't really say since they are sitting in Steve's office and he is not sure what he wants to do with them. I have a lot so stuff in Steve's office now that I think about it. There is a couple of projects in there that I wrote. Now I am not a writer. Stormy loves to write but I don't. I just got a creative streak and sat down and wrote two scripts. One of them is a very huge movie and would require some special effects and would be extremely visual. I know I want to star in it but I am not sure who I would want to direct it. I know I want it shot on film and I don't have the slightest knowledge on shooting film. If I had to answer right now I would probably lean towards Brad or maybe Nic Andrews or Michael Zen. But I am still waiting to hear for Steve about it.

Anything else you want to talk about?

Devinn Lane - Well I have Stiletto coming out directed by Michael Zen. Wicked Sex Party 6 which I am hearing some things had to be cut out of because we got really filthy. I am not sure what they had to cut but I really wanted to do a Wicked Sex Party and they left the cast up to me. If you do that then I am going to pick people who really love to have sex together and that just makes for a good sex scene. I just shot Beautiful/Nasty Too with Nicole Sheridan and I think that will be really great. Beautiful/Nasty continues to sell really well. Even outselling some of the boy/girl product at Wicked.
